The Weltall File, by David Weber & Jacob Holo. Book cover illustration by Kurt Miller. The cover idea I chosen to create takes place on a futuristic Earth’s moon.
Author's note: The docking bay is located at the top of a “skyscraper” kind of tower, one in a grid of fairly uniform towers. The docking bay is an enclosed space that opens at the top for ships to come and go and then pressurizes. For cover composition, there can be windows along the sides of the bay that afford a view of the surrounding geography. In fact, making most of the upper and side surfaces transparent is perfectly fine. The imposter is actually using a very powerful synthetic body that looks like the real person, so the imposter is almost able to go toe-to-toe with the police figure militarized combat frame.
